Hrithik-Deepika To Shahid-Kriti, Fresh On-Screen Pairings To Look Forward To In 2024
From Deepika Padukone-Hrithik Roshan to Shahid Kapoor-Kriti Sanon, here are some of the exciting new pairs to look forward to in 2024.
In the ever-evolving landscape of Bollywood, the magic of storytelling is often fueled by the chemistry between the lead stars. While established pairs like Shah Rukh Khan-Kajol, Salman Khan-Katrina Kaif, Varun Dhawan-Alia Bhatt, and more have their own charm, there's an undeniable excitement in witnessing fresh on-screen pairings that bring a new zest to the cinematic experience. As Bollywood continues to evolve with changing times and the boom of OTT platforms, the exploration of fresh pairings opens doors to innovative narratives and diverse characters, resulting in entertaining films. And 2023, which was truly Bollywood’s year, gave us some of the best new on-screen pairings.
The year started with a familiar pair – Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone, who had worked in multiple films before they reunited for the 2023 blockbuster ‘Pathaan’. Movie buffs were soon treated to a fresh on-screen couple Ranbir Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor’s crackling chemistry in the Holi 2023 release ‘Tu Jhooti Main Makkaar’. Another fun pairing came in the form of Sara Ali Khan and Vicky Kaushal, who first starred together in last year’s surprising hit ‘Zara Hatke Zara Bachke’. It is worth mentioning that their adorable and fun equation was also visible during the promotions of their film.
Then we got to see some familiar pairs again like Kartik Aaryan-Kiara Advani in ‘SatyaPrem Ki Katha’ and Ranveer Singh-Alia Bhatt in ‘Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani’. While Kartik and Kiara’s movie tried to deliver a new and different concept, ‘RRKPK’ brought back classic Bollywood romance to the silver screen.
Another interesting new pairing came in the form of Ayushmann Khurrana and Ananya Panday in the hit 2023 movie ‘Dream Girl 2’. Then came one of the best pairings of 2023, Shah Rukh Khan with South star Nayanthara in Atlee’s blockbuster ‘Jawan’.
Movie buffs witnessed another heart-warming tale of love in Vikrant Massey and Medha Shankar’s commercial and critical success ‘12th Fail’. While the film essentially revolved around the life of Manoj Kumar Sharma who overcame extreme poverty to become an Indian Police Service (IPS) officer, it also highlighted how his wife, IRS officer Shraddha Joshi, was instrumental in his rise with her unwavering support and love.
We then witnessed the reunion of the much-loved pair Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif in ‘Tiger 3’. And while they looked absolutely bomb together on the silver screen, Ranbir Kapoor’s refreshing pairing with Rashmika Mandanna in ‘Animal’ took the limelight. Ranbir Kapoor also appeared in a few steamy scenes with Triptii Dimri in ‘Animal’, and their chemistry was loved by all.
The 2023 December release ‘Sam Bahadur’ also brought together a charming on-screen pairing in the form of Vicky Kaushal and Sanya Malhotra. The year ended on a good note as King Khan returned to the silver screen with his third release of 2023 – ‘Dunki’, which saw him sharing screen space with Taapssee Pannu for the first time.
With so many successful new pairings last year, 2024 is already looking bright and promising for the Indian entertainment industry as we are starting the new year with two fresh on-screen couples to root for. No points for guessing – Katrina Kaif and Vijay Sethupathi in ‘Merry Christmas’ and Deepika Padukone and Hrithik Roshan in ‘Fighter’.
