Katrina Kaif to Kangana Ranaut, take inspiration from leading Bollywood actresses to nail your Karwa Chauth 2023 look.

Karwa Chauth is celebrated with great pomp and excitement amongst Hindu families in North India, especially in Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Haryana, and Gujarat. The festival, which is also referred to as Karak Chaturthi, takes place on Krishna Paksha Chaturthi in Kartik month. Many women, both newlyweds as well as those who have been married for years, display their affection for their husbands by observing a strict fast, during which they abstain from food and water throughout the day, in addition to praying for their significant other's long life and good health. Women usually have their 'sargi' before sunrise and don't eat or drink anything until moonrise.

Only after the moonrise, gazing into their husbands' eyes and offering a specific prayer to the moon, can women break their fast (vrat). And every festival comes with the worry of nailing your look. It can be pretty tricky to choose the right outfit that perfectly radiates the festive vibes and doesn't look over the top.

Karwa Chauth is the perfect time to embrace your inner ethnic fashionista, glam up in traditional Indian attires, put on some Indian jewellery, and sport gorgeous makeup looks.

If you are still wondering what to wear this Karwa Chauth, then we have got you covered. When it comes to fashion and style, nobody can beat our Bollywood divas. B-town celebrities, who love going big on festivals, often drop stunning photos of them on social media to show off their jaw-dropping outfits, setting major fashion goals and getting us all in the festive spirit.

Check out some stunning celebrity-inspired traditional ensembles that will help you stand out during Karwa Chauth 2023:

1. Katrina Kaif: How can we talk about fashion and not mention Katrina Kaif who celebrated her first Karwa Chauth in 2022 and absolutely nailed her look? Katrina Kaif, who is married to Vicky Kaushal, donned a breathtaking Sabyasachi saree for the occasion. She looked absolutely gorgeous in a reddish-pink net saree paired with a green-coloured floral blouse. The eternal diva accessorised her traditional outfit with red chooda, heavy traditional golden earrings and a sleek and elegant mangalsutra. She kept her makeup minimal and chose to leave her long tresses open in a middle-parted straight hairstyle. So if you are bored of sequins and shimmer, Katrina Kaif’s elegant and classy Sabyasachi saree look could work as the perfect inspiration for you.

Recently, the Bollywood actress donned a stunning heavily embroidered red silk saree. She paired it with a matching heavily embroidered blouse. 4. Sonam Kapoor: Not in the mood to wear a saree and want to rock a suit instead? Then take some inspiration from Sonam Kapoor Ahuja, who never fails to make head-turning fashion statements. Her latest ethnic fashion entry came right in time for Karwa Chauth 2023.

She slipped into a stunning red Sabyasachi anarkali suit set. Sonam Kapoor’s outfit featured full sleeves, a fitted bodice and a flared bottom with intricate gold embroidery. The actress paired it with straight pants and a matching heavily embroidered dupatta. To compliment her stunning look, she wore heavy Indian jewellery that included a gold choker necklace, a pair of statement jhumkas and a statement finger ring. However, if you feel like going a bit subtle for the occasion and want some style inspiration, then take a cue from Alia Bhatt who wore a subtle saree for her wedding. She wore the outfit again for the National Films Awards 2023. 6. Deepika Padukone: The Bollywood diva’s sartorial choices never fail to surprise us. Deepika Padukone remains our favourite when it comes to Indian ethnic wear, which is a blend of her love for the colour red, traditional silk and trends. And Deepika Padukone has often showcased her love for sarees by rocking diverse designs featuring gold embroideries, sequin, and statement borders. And one of the trends that Deepika Padukone aced like a pro was colour blocking. For new brides who are excited to flaunt their traditional choodas and celebrate their first Karwa Chauth after marriage, Deepika’s colour-blocking saree look could serve as the ultimate fashion inspiration for you. The combination of an ivory drape and a blood-red blouse with hand-embroidered detailing is stunning. You can further style the same with traditional jhumkas and hair tied into a bun – just like DP did!

7. Anushka Sharma:  If you feel like red is just not your colour, you can opt for different colours and prints, which look stylish and stunning. Two things that are in trend right now: florals and pastels. And a combination of the two? Just chef’s kiss. You could rock a floral-printed traditional outfit, just like Anushka Sharma wore back in 2019. Accentuate your look with heavy jewellery or with bold makeup, however, do not mix the two. Remember, sometimes less is more! Anushka Sharma wore a pista green-coloured floral-printed Sabyasachi saree. She teamed the saree, which featured pink and yellow flowers along with an intricately beaded border, with a simple strappy blouse. She also wore statement earrings and pulled her hair back into a messy bun.

8. Kiara Advani: This Bollywood actress loves to play with colours and trends, and this Karwa Chauth, she is our inspiration. If you love plain and simple sarees just like we do, then this look of Kiara Advani is the ultimate saviour. A chic white blouse paired with a pink saree, heavy earrings, and minimal makeup — too pretty for words! Kiara Avani wore a gorgeous hot-pink coloured chiffon saree and a bralette-style blouse. It is the perfect look to rock if you want to stand out from the crowd and nail the modern ethnic trend. Kiara Advani’s pink chiffon saree featured a semi-sheer silhouette and intricate floral thread embroidery on the pallu. Kiara Advani styled the drape with a white-coloured sleeveless bralette-style blouse featuring broad straps, a plunging V neckline and intricate floral brocade embroidery. She accessorised the modern yet traditional look with statement jewels, including jhumkis and a matching ring. Lastly, Kiara Advani sported a pulled-back ponytail with loose waves, which gave the finishing touch.
