The first look of Varun Dhawan from Atlee’s ‘Baby John’ is finally out. The release date of the film has also been announced.
Varun Dhawan made his acting debut alongside Alia Bhatt and Sidharth Malhotra in Karan Johar’s ‘Student of the Year’. Since then, he has delivered numerous successful performances in movies like ‘Badlapur’, ‘Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania’, ‘Judwaa 2’, ‘October’, and ‘Jug Jugg Jeeyo’. His charismatic screen presence and dancing prowess have earned him a large fan base. Last year, Varun Dhawan was seen in the Amazon Prime Video movie ‘Bawaal’, co-starring Janhvi Kapoor. While Varun Dhawan’s performance in the 2023 Hindi movie was largely appreciated, the Nitesh Tiwari directorial came under fire for a few scenes and dialogues.
Several viewers found certain World War II scenes in the 2023 Hindi movie problematic and insensitive. The Bollywood actor is now gearing up for the release of his upcoming film ‘Baby John’, produced by Atlee, who tasted massive success with his 2023 directorial ‘Jawan’.
‘Baby John’ also stars Keerthy Suresh and Wamiqa Gabbi. Taking to Instagram, Varun Dhawan shared the first look of the film along with its release date.

In the teaser video, Varun Dhawan can be seen in an intense avatar as he prepares to take on his enemies. The clip resembles a battlefield with weapons and fire around Varun Dhawan's character. He is seen sitting on a chair with guns around it. Many traditional dancers are also featured in the teaser.
Soon after the video was shared on Instagram, several social media users flocked to the post’s comment section and praised the first look of the film.
One fan wrote, “Blockbuster loading.”
Another one added, “Firee h bosss.”
A third one commented, “Sooo good to see you in a new avatar and you killed it & how.”
“Can't wait for Baby John. You in such a massy avatar, then the bgm god, you deserved this scale,” another comment read.

The upcoming film, directed by A. Kaleeswaran, will be released in theatres globally on May 31, 2024. ‘Baby John’ was tentatively titled ‘VD 18’.
‘Baby John’ marks the Hindi film debut of Keerthy Suresh and the silver screen debut of Wamiqa Gabbi. The star cast of the action entertainer also includes Jackie Shroff and Rajpal Yadav.
Besides Atlee, the film is produced by Murad Khetani, Priya Atlee, and Jyoti Deshpande. The project is presented by Jio Studios in association with A for Apple Studios and Cine1 Studios.
For the unversed, ‘Baby John’ is the official Hindi remake of director Atlee’s ‘Theri’, which starred Thalapathy Vijay, Samantha and Amy Jackson.
