Kiara Advani Beats Famous Cricketers To Be Most Searched Person In India On Google, Jawan Tops Movie List
The gorgeous Kiara Advani was the most searched personality in India on Google this year, beating the likes of Shubman Gill and Mohammed Shami, among others.
Tech giant Google released its Year in Search roundup of 2023, and in the country-wise specific trends, many surprising searches appeared. Beautiful Bollywood actress Kiara Advani flew the flag high for India as was the only Indian in the top 10 list of most searched people in the world on Google. The list was headed by Jeremy Renner. When it came to country-specific search trends the B-town beauty topped the list ahead of cricket’s rising star Shubman Gill and New Zealand’s up and coming all-rounder Rachin Ravindra. Her husband Sidharth Malhotra also made it to the top 10 list in India, occupying the sixth spot.
The only other personality, connected to the entertainment world, in the top 10 list is Elvish Yadav, who was the fifth most searched person in India in 2023 on Google.
All the rest of the searches in India were centered around sports. Surprisingly, many foreign sporting stars managed to make it to the top 10 list.
Australian cricketer Glenn Maxwell was the seventh-most search person in India, while former England football captain David Beckham was eighth. Another Australian cricketer, Travis Head, the man who broke Indian hearts in the Cricket World Cup final, was the 10th most searched personality in India on Google.
Shah Rukh Khan, surprisingly, failed to make it to the top 10 list despite two of his record-breaking movies releasing in 2023.
While the King Khan himself couldn’t make it to the most searched personality list, his movies – Jawan and Pathaan – were among the most searched movies in India on Google in 2023.
In fact, Jawan was the most searched movie in India with ‘Pathaan’ coming in fifth in the top 10 list. Sunny Deol’s Gadar 2 was the second-most searched movie, while the likes of Adipurush, Jailer and Tiger 3 also made it to the top 10 list.
Interestingly, there was only Hollywood flick in the list of most searched movies in India – Oppenheimer.
Among the most searched shows in India, Shahid Kapoor’s ‘Farzi’ tops the list ahead of Wednesday and Asur.
‘Rana Naidu’ and ‘The Last Of Us’ round up the top 5, respectively.
