Hrithik Roshan, Deepika Padukone, and Anil Kapoor-starrer 'Fighter' might not be enjoying a phenomenal run at the box office, but the film continues to be appreciated for its acting performances and screenplay. However, the Siddharth Anand-directorial is also receiving a polarising reaction for its dialogues and the behaviour employed towards Pakistan. In the latest entertainment news, Hrithik Roshan has spoken candidly regarding the dialogues of 'Fighter', which have generated a polarising response.

In an interview with Film Companion, the actor said that he is "bearing the weight" of some of the dialogues in the film.

"I would like to believe that the audience and fans that come to watch my films, are a bit evolved and they would not need lines like this. But that's a weight that I bear because as an actor, as I said, I don't cross any lines but at the same time, I admire that Siddharth Anand is a very headstrong filmmaker," said Hrithik Roshan.

Hearing this, journalist Anupama Chopra asked, "So it was his conviction?"

"Yes, it's his conviction, yes. And sometimes you see somebody that convinced and it kind of like breaks your heart to like bow down and say no, which I don't do, but ofcourse, I also bear the weight of that because finally it's my face. I am very very happy that it has landed as entertainment, and nothing more than that. I am really really relieved about that. Having said that, I still bear the weight of it," said Hrithik Roshan.

For the unversed, 'Fighter' is based on Pulwama terror attack on Indian armed forces. In one dialogue in the film, Hrithik Roshan tells the antagonist, that Pakistan should be careful and should not try to rub India the other way, as some regions in Pakistan could very well become "IOP", which means India occupied Pakistan.

‘Fighter’, presented by Viacom18 Studios in association with Marflix Pictures, is the third collaboration between Hrithik Roshan and Siddharth Anand after ‘Bang Bang’ and ‘War’. The new Hindi movie is also the third collaboration between Deepika Padukone and Siddharth Anand after ‘Bachna Ae Haseeno’ and ‘Pathaan’.

Earlier, Siddharth Anand admitted that the success of ‘Pathaan’, starring Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone, and John Abraham, has set the bar too high for him and he is indeed feeling the “pressure of the expectations” from his audience.

'Fighter' has so far collected more than Rs 130 crore in India.
