Akshay Kumar is all everyone can talk about. But the reason is not his latest release 'Mission Raniganj'. The actor has left the internet puzzled with a new surrogate advertisement for a pan masala brand, for which he had previously apologised. During the Cricket World Cup 2023 match between India and Australia on Sunday, fans were left shocked after watching a pan masala brand ad featuring Shah Rukh Khan, Ajay Devgn and Akshay Kumar.

For the unversed, earlier Akshay Kumar had publicly apologised for promoting a tobacco brand, saying he would "step back" from the commitment.

So it is no surprise that the new commercial has not gone down well with netizens. Fans are now questioning the involvement of Akshay Kumar with a tobacco brand even after he had distanced himself from it.

Many are calling out the "hypocrisy" of the actor.

Here are some of the reactions:

"Akshay Kumar to bola tha ab main pan masala ka ad nahi karunga q ki uske fan kafi na khush ho gaye the jab unhone pahli baar vimal ka ad kiya tha to ye dobara q kiya ab," wrote one user.

"You had said that you won’t work for this brand, existing ads will continue to air till its date, will donate money you got out of this for something noble cause. How come there is a new add with you in it," wrote another user.

"Akshay ko phir se Galiyan padne Vali he," wrote another user.

"Paiso ke liye kuch bhi kr sakta hai .. Akshay Kumar," commented one user.

"Bhai Akshay Kumar ab vimal ki ad nhi krne wala thne phir ky huwa movie nhi clhi asliya krliya ky," wrote another user.

"Akshay Kumar Be Like, Paisa Hi Paisa Hoga," wrote another user.

Earlier, Akshay Kumar had apologised for endoring a tobacco brand.

In his statement, Akshay had said, "I am sorry. I would like to apologise to you, all my fans and well-wishers. Your reaction over the past few days has deeply affected me. While I have not and will not endorse tobacco, I respect the outpouring of your feelings in light of my association with Vimal Elaichi."

"With all humility, I step back. I have decided to contribute the entire endorsement fee towards a worthy cause. The brand might continue airing the ads till the legal duration of the contract that is binding upon me, but I promise to be extremely mindful in making my future choices," he added.
