Several Bollywood celebrities have been expressing their concerns and pushing back against intrusive pictures and videos being taken by the paparazzi. A few days back, Janhvi Kapoor warned a pap against taking her photo from an inappropriate angle while she promoted her upcoming film ‘Mr & Mrs Mahi’ in a red backless dress. In a viral video, Janhvi Kapoor was seen sternly telling a photographer, “Aap na galat galat angles mat liya kijiye.” And now, she has opened up about being clicked inappropriately.

Janhvi Kapoor, who has been promoting her upcoming film ‘Mr & Mrs Mahi’, shares a warm rapport with paps. However, in a new interview with The Indian Express, Janhvi Kapoor shared that she is now starting to feel conscious of how she’s being clicked.

The actress also told The Indian Express that lately she’s been feeling “not so confident” because she is being clicked from “galat” angles. According to the actress, while not all photographers do this, some are “incentivised” to click pictures in a certain way for “clickbait”.

Janhvi Kapoor also said a lot of the paps are very “respectful” of her and other stars. The Bollywood actress added, “But some of them have also been incentivised to do these things. Like they’ll take a normal video of you but cover photo mein vo he dalenge jo sabse galat angle lage ya sabse sensational lage kyunki clickbait ussi mein milta hai, and specifically for a woman.”

“So, you feel kind of not the most comfortable at times. And it is kind of sad that main confidence se nahi chal paati hun. Hamesha ek commentary chalti rehti hai dimag mein ke ‘bachke rehna galat angle aa sakta hai’. It’s sad, unfortunate, and I hope better sense prevails. It’s not respectful,” she further said.

Janhvi also shared a personal experience where some paps would ask her to say bye. She said, “There was a phase jab main ghum ghum ke aise bye bolti thi. And I wouldn’t like realise ki kyun mujhe bol rahe hain bye bolne ko. Like I was just happily saying bye. Now, I feel like how stupid.”

She added, “Aur comments aise aate hain ki haan jaanpuchke ye saare angles dikhane ki koshish kar rahi hai. The judgement around a female’s clothes, character, sexuality is so sensitive, it’s exhausting. I hope we can come to a place where the media, the paparazzi are more cognizant of these things.”

“And there are people in the media that are like that. I am happy for them… I am glad for them,” Janhvi Kapoor concluded.

Talking about Janhvi Kapoor’s ‘Mr & Mrs Mahi’, the upcoming film also stars Rajkummar Rao in the lead role. The new Hindi movie, directed by Sharan Sharma, is backed by Hiroo Yash Johar, Karan Johar and Apoorva Mehta.

Apart from ‘Mr & Mrs Mahi’, Janhvi Kapoor will be seen in ‘Ulajh’, which will hit the theatres on July 5. She will also mark her Telugu debut with ‘Devara: Part 1’, co-starring Jr NTR and Saif Ali Khan.

She also has ‘Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari’ alongside Varun Dhawan in the pipeline. Janhvi Kapoor will also be seen opposite Ram Charan in his next untitled film.
