"Poore World Mein...": Kangana Ranaut Compares Her Box Office Struggles To Shah Rukh Khan's Blip
Kangana Ranaut compared her box office run to Shah Rukh Khan's, saying he had 10 flops before 'Pathaan'
Actress Kangana Ranaut has been having a torrid run at the box office, and her past few releases such as 'Tejas', 'Dhaakad', and 'Thalaivii' have not performed as per expectations. The actress, who will be contesting Lok Sabha Elections for BJP from Mandi, will next be seen in 'Emergency', in which she will be playing the role of former India Prime Minister, Indira Gandhi.
In the latest entertainment news, Kangana Ranaut has finally broken her silence on the box office performance of her last few films.
She compared her box office run to Shah Rukh Khan's, saying the superstar also delivered 10 flops, before making a smashing return with 'Pathaan' last year.
"Poore world mein aisa koi nahi hai. Shah Rukh Khan ki 10 films nahi chali, phir Pathaan chali. Meri 7-8 saal koi film nahi chali, phir Queen chali, phir 3-4 saal baad Manikarnika chali. Now Emergency is releasing next, you never know maybe it will work wonders at the box office,” the actress said at the Times Now Summit 2024.
Kangana Ranaut then also said that she and Shah Rukh Khan are the "last generation" of stars as OTT does not have the quality of making stars.
“We are known faces and by the grace of God, we are very much in demand. But I want to involve myself with the real world as opposed to just being consumed by the field of arts,” Kangana said.
Kangana Ranaut will be fighting the Lok Sabha election from Himachal Pradesh’s Mandi on the BJP’s ticket. Last week, BJP had released its fifth list of candidates for the Lok Sabha polls and the political party decided to field Kangana, who has been a staunch supporter of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Kangana then took to X and said she was “honoured and elated to officially join the party”.
“My beloved Bharat and Bhartiya Janta’s own party, Bharatiya Janta party ( BJP) has always had my unconditional support, today the national leadership of BJP has announced me as their Loksabha candidate from my birth place Himachal Pradesh, Mandi (constituency) I abide by the high command’s decision on contesting Loksabha polls. I feel honoured and elated to officially join the party. I look forward to be a worthy karyakarta and a reliable public servant. Thanks,” the actress said in an X post.
On the work front, Kangana Ranaut will next be seen in the Hindi film 'Emergency'. The film is directed by Kangana Ranaut herself, and it will be releasing in cinemas on June 14, 2024.
'Emergency' will be clashing with Kabir Khan and Kartik Aaryan's 'Chandu Champion' at the box office.
