Janhvi Kapoor Gets Emotional As She Shares Heartbreaking Moment About Learning Of Mother Sridevi's Death

'Koffee With Karan 8' hosted by Karan Johar has been really entertaining this season and the ace filmmaker has hosted the likes of Deepika Padukone-Ranveer Singh, Bobby Deol-Sunny Deol, Saif Ali Khan-Sharmila Tagore, Aditya Roy Kapur-Arjun Kapoor, Ananya Panday-Sara Ali Khan and more. The latest episode of the chat show featured sisters Janhvi Kapoor and Khushi Kapoor, and during their appearance, the siblings opened up about losing their mother Sridevi at a young age.
Janhvi Kapoor revealed what happened when she first heard about her mother Sridevi's death and she also said that it was her sister Khushi, who comforted her despite being the younger sibling.
"When I got the call, I was in my room and I could hear wailing from Khushi's room. I think I barged into her room, hauling and crying but what I do remember is she looked at me and the minute she looked at me, she just stopped crying. She just sat next to me and started comforting me and I've never seen her cry about it since," said Janhvi Kapoor on the show.
As Janhvi revealed these details, she got a little emotional. Even Karan Johar had tears in his eyes.
Talking about losing her mother, Khushi Kapoor said, "I think it took me a while to kind of accept it. I think it did suddenly hit me after a while. I had Janhvi, I had my dad. I felt like I had to hold it together for everyone because I feel like I've always been the strong one."
For the unversed, Sridevi passed away in 2018 in Dubai, where she was attending the wedding of her husband Boney Kapoor's nephew Arjun Marwah.
The cause of her death was revealed to be accidental drowning.
Talking about how Khushi Kapoor has certain qualities as her mother Sridevi, Janhvi said, "She is very quiet person and I think that is one thing she has in common with Mumma. But in front of the camera, she just explodes."
For the unversed, Janhvi and Khushi are Boney Kapoor's daughters from his second marriage to Sridevi.
Before Sridevi, Boney Kapoor was married to Mona Shourie and had son Arjun Kapoor and daughter Anshula Kapoor with her.
On the work front, Janhvi Kapoor will next be seen in 'Devara' alongside Jr NTR and Saif Ali Khan. The film is slated to release in theatres on April 5, 2024.
Khushi Kapoor had recently made her acting debut with Zoya Akhtar's 'The Archies'.
