"Kajol Rang Me Up...": Karan Johar Opens Up On How Ajay Devgn "Graciously" Ended Their Feud
'Koffee With Karan 8': Karan Johar and Ajay Devgn discussed their old feud, revealing how they moved past it.
The latest 'Koffee With Karan 8' episode featured close friends Ajay Devgn and Rohit Shetty. And during the episode, Ajay Devgn and host Karan Johar discussed their old feud that created a rift between them for years. For the unversed, the duo had a bitter falling out when their films 'Ae Dil Hai Mushkil' and 'Shivaay' released in theatres on the same day in 2016. This led to a misunderstanding between the two after which they did not speak to each other for years.
During the rapid fire round, Karan Johar asked Ajay Devgn if he has any "sworn enemy" in the film industry. Ajay Devgn laughed, and said, "Once upon a time, it was you,” and Karan looked shocked at the revelation.
After the rapid fire, Karan Johar brought up the falling out with Ajay Devgn and said, "Whatever the altercation was, and it was misunderstanding, misconception, we didn’t speak, Kajol and I didn’t speak. I’m sure he must have had a troubled time with his own wife because we are such close friends but he really was very gracious. We were in the same studio and I said I want to meet him because he was there and he agreed to meet me immediately."
“He said ‘let’s not talk about anything. You are close to Kajol. We are one industry and we should…’ And it took a minute for us to go back to normalcy,” Karan Johar recalled.
Ajay Devgn then said, “It’s a very short life. You can’t… whoever is wrong or right, me, you… doesn’t matter. Just move on. I think we should never talk about it ever."
Hearing this, Karan Johar said, "Kajol rang me up and told me, ‘never are you going to release on the same day with my husband’. I said ‘never again’. I said ‘I anyway don’t like to clash and perhaps that was the only time that we did. I said never with Ajay, anybody else, if it happens accidentally, we’ll see, but never with Ajay. That’s a sworn rule’.”
Previously, Karan Johar and Kajol have addressed their differences but in the ongoing 'Koffee With Karan' season, Kajol refused to discuss the old fight.
