Bollywood actress Alia Bhatt has returned for her second appearance at the Met Gala. After making her stunning debut at the uber-popular fashion event last year, the 'Gangubai Kathiawadi' actress returned to the event, which is taking place at The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. Alia Bhatt left her fans stunned as she attended Met Gala 2024 in a gorgeous mint green-coloured Sabyasachi floral saree adorned with delicate embroidery and precious gemstones. Alia Bhatt stayed true to this year's Met Gala theme, "Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion."

The actress' outfit was selected carefully to keep up with the theme. Taking to Instagram, Alia Bhatt shared stunning photos of herself from the event and wrote, "I am feeling great. I am very excited. Months of preparation have come down to this moment. I am wearing Sabyasachi Mukherjee. This is my second time at the Met and the first time wearing a saree. When I thought of the theme ‘The Garden Of Time’ I thought that there is nothing more timeless than a saree. This is all hand-embroidery. It has took 1905 man hours and 163 craftsmen, workers, everybody to make this garment.”

Speaking further about her outfit, Alia said, "It was a call to the Garden of Time – an ode to art and eternity. Timelessness is endless, and we acknowledge that things crafted with time and care, can last forever. In our journey for an Indian interpretation of this universal theme, the outfit took on a life of its own. Nothing embodies tradition and innovation like the saree; in the skilled hands of #SabyasachiMukherjee, this vision found its fullest expression.”

"Creating this has been quite an experience… fun and stressful in equal parts. It has taken a collective effort of 163 dedicated individuals, including master craftspeople, embroiderers, artists, and dyers, investing a total of 1965-man hours to create this ethereal saree. As I wear this outfit, I feel incredibly grateful to embody this exquisite creation," she added.

Representing her Indian heritage, Alia Bhatt wore a mint green-coloured Sabyasachi saree as she walked on the iconic stairs of The Metropolitan Museum Of Art.

The Sabyasachi saree featured a massive embroidered train. It came hand-embroidered with silk floss, glass beading, and gemstones. Additionally, the hand-embroidered delicate floral in pink and green hues, beaded tassels in the borders, and a ruffled pleat on the front added to the magical charm of the ethnic wonder.

Alia Bhatt wore the saree with a bustier blouse featuring a plunging sweetheart neckline, ruffled sleeves, intricate embroidery and gemstone embellishments, and a tulle bow detail on the back.

For the accessories, she chose jewels by Sabyasachi, including a mang tikka, an ornate band adorned on her hairdo, hair baubles, statement earrings, stunning rings, and high heels.

For her makeup, she went with well-shaped eyebrows, subtle golden eye shadow, mascara-laden lashes, blushed cheeks, fuchsia pink lips, and beaming highlighter. Meanwhile, a messy updo with loose strands of hair framing her face gave the perfect finishing touch to her absolutely gorgeous look for Met Gala 2024.
