Nora Fatehi, who recently featured in ‘Madgaon Express, opened up about her initial days of struggle in Mumbai.

Nora Fatehi, who gained immense popularity in Bollywood, is known for her exceptional dancing skills, captivating screen presence, and stunning looks. Nora Fatehi's journey to stardom began with her appearance in the Salman Khan-hosted reality show ‘Bigg Boss 9’. However, it was her remarkable dance performances in various Bollywood songs that truly propelled her to fame. The Bollywood actress has showed off her killer dance moves in various songs like ‘Dilbar’, ‘Saki Saki’, ‘Kamariya’, ‘Garmi’ and ‘Naach Meri Rani’. She is also equally famous for her stunning fashion sense, often sporting eye-catching outfits.

However, her road to stardom was anything but easy. Nora Fatehi recently opened up about her time when she arrived in India. During an appearance on the new episode of The Bombay Journey with Mashable India, she recalled her struggling days and said, “I came to India with only Rs 5,000 in my pocket. I didn’t even know what 1000 dollars was like.”

Nora Fatehi also spoke about living with nine girls in a house, calling the experience “traumatic”. She said, “I lived with nine psychopaths in a three BHK apartment where I shared the room with two other girls. During my stay there, I used to think, ‘What have I got myself into?’ I was not prepared for that at all. I am still traumatised.”

The Bollywood actress also opened up about her “rough” experience with agencies that paid her meagre salaries.

Nora Fatehi said, “What used to happen was that the agency would make money out of you. They cut the pocket money, they pay the rent from that, they cut their commission, the air you breathe, and then they give you jo reh gaya which is nothing. So we were on a diet of like one egg, nutella and bread and milk every day. It was really bad. Some of these agencies they exploit people so badly. We don't have laws and regulations for these things. I am serious I needed therapy for that time. It was a rough time.”

In a 2019 interview with Zee News, Fatehi had shared, “The agency, that I used to work with, would only give me Rs 3000 per week. And managing my day-to-day routine within the given amount was really difficult for me. But I managed it smartly so that I didn’t run out of money by the end of the week.”

Nora Fatehi was last seen in ‘Madgaon Express’, which marked the directorial debut of Kunal Kemmu. It also stars Divyenndu, Pratik Gandhi, and Avinash Tiwary. The movie, produced by Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar, released in cinemas on March 22.

The film, which opened to favourable reviews, has so far earned Rs 18.75 crore in India, as per industry tracker Sacnilk.

Nora Fatehi will be next seen in ‘Be Happy’ with Abhishek Bachchan. She will also star alongside Varun Tej in ‘Matka’.
