Pakistani actor Adnan Siddiqui has taken a dig at 'Fighter'.

'Fighter', starring Hrithik Roshan, Deepika Padukone and Anil Kapoor, released in theatres on January 25. The new Hindi film directed by Siddharth Anand, has garnered positive reviews from critics, but the box office performance has been underwhelming to say the least. Fans were expecting 'Fighter' to be the first blockbuster of 2024, but this is not the case. In the latest entertainment news, Pakistani actor Adnan Siddiqui has taken a dig at 'Fighter', which was earlier branded as "anti-Pakistan" by several celebrities across the border.

"A lesson to heed for Fighter team after your flop show: Do not insult your audience’s intelligence. They can discern agendas. Let entertainment be free from unnecessary politics," Adnan Siddiqui wrote on X (formerly Twitter).

Earlier, Adnan Siddiqui had criticised the trailer for 'Fighter' as well, saying, "Once celebrated for love, Bollywood now crafts hate-filled narratives, portraying us as villains. Despite our love for your films, it's disheartening. Art transcends boundaries; let's use it to promote love and peace. Two nations, victims of politics, deserve better."

For the unversed, Adnan Siddiqui had starred in the 2017-film 'Mom', alongside the late Sridevi.

This is not the first time that Adnan has criticised an Indian film. Earlier, he had called out Sidharth Malhotra and Rashmika Mandanna-starrer 'Mission Majnu' for "misrepresentation" of Pakistanis.

The actor had called the film "distasteful" and "factually incorrect".

"How much misrepresentation is too much misrepresentation? Bollywood has the answer. I mean come on, yaar (friend) with all the money you have, hire some good researchers to do homework on us," he had said.

"Or allow me to help. Make sure to take notes — no, we don’t wear skull caps, surma, tawiz; no, we don’t ask janab (sir) about their mijaz ; no, we don’t go around throwing adaab," he added.

Talking about 'Fighter', the new Hindi film is presented by Viacom18 Studios in association with Marflix Pictures, is the third collaboration between Hrithik Roshan and Siddharth Anand after ‘Bang Bang’ and ‘War’. The new Hindi movie is also the third collaboration between Deepika Padukone and Siddharth Anand after ‘Bachna Ae Haseeno’ and ‘Pathaan’.

Earlier, Siddharth Anand admitted that the success of ‘Pathaan’, starring Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone, and John Abraham, has set the bar too high for him and he is indeed feeling the “pressure of the expectations” from his audience.
