The actress took to her Instagram to upload a video, announcing she is alive, and she also talked about cervical cancer, and how deadly it is.
"I feel compelled to share something significant with you all - I am here, alive. Cervical Cancer didn’t claim me, but tragically, it has claimed the lives of thousands of women who stemmed from a lack of knowledge on how to tackle this disease. Unlike some other cancers, Cervical Cancer is entirely preventable," she wrote on Instagram.
"The key lies in the HPV vaccine and early detection tests. We have the means to ensure no one loses their life to this disease. On Friday morning, the official Instagram handle of Poonam Pandey announced that the actress passed away at the age of 32.
“This morning is a tough one for us. Deeply saddened to inform you that we have lost our beloved Poonam to cervical cancer. Every living form that ever came in contact with her was met with pure love and kindness. In this time of grief, we would request for privacy while we remember her fondly for all that we shared," the post read.
For the unversed, Poonam Pandey was a popular model, and she first gained fame when she promised in a video message that she would strip if India ends up winning the final of 2011 Cricket World Cup.
On the work front, Poonam Pandey was last seen in the first season of Kangana Ranaut-hosted show 'Lock Upp'. She was not able to win the show, but it did help in expanding her fan base.
