There is no stopping Ajay Devgn, R Madhavan, and Jyotika’s new Hindi movie ‘Shaitaan’ at the domestic box office. The new Hindi movie, directed by Vikas Bahl of ‘Queen’ fame, was released in cinemas on March 8. After a good opening, ‘Shaitaan’ recorded a strong Monday hold and this is a good sign for the Vikas Bahl directorial in the coming days. As per industry tracker Sacnilk, ‘Shaitaan’ minted Rs 7 crore on its first Monday, which was the fourth day of its release.

As a result, the total nett domestic collection of the film now stands at Rs 61 crore. For the unversed, ‘Shaitaan’ had recorded an opening weekend of Rs 54 crore in India after minting more than Rs 20 crore on its first Sunday.

For the unversed, ‘Shaitaan’ had opened to a collection of Rs 14.75 crore on its premiere day and then the film saw a spike of 27 per cent on Saturday, collecting Rs 18.75 crore.

As per Sacnilk, ‘Shaitaan’ had a 14.96 per cent Hindi occupancy on Monday. The film will now be looking to go past the Rs 100 crore mark by the end of this week.

However, ‘Shaitaan’ has fallen short of surpassing the four-day total of Ajay Devgn’s ‘Drishyam 2’. The film had minted Rs 76.01 crore after its four days of release.

‘Shaitaan’ has sold 72,269 tickets for Tuesday (Day 5), grossing Rs 1.19 crore. The new Hindi movie will be looking to register a collection close to Monday, and if there is no drop, it will indicate that the movie will be having a long run in the theatres.

The new Hindi movie will likely go past the lifetime collection of Ajay Devgn's ‘Bholaa’. The Hindi film, which released in March 2023, minted Rs 90.31 crore in India.

‘Shaitaan’ has been produced by Ajay Devgn, Jyoti Deshpande, Kumar Mangat Pathak, and Abhishek Pathak under the banners of Devgn Films, Jio Studios, and Panorama Studios. The film's story revolves around a happy family and how their lives take a turn after meeting a mysterious man.

The new Hindi movie is the remake of the 2023 Gujarat film ‘Vash’. The music for the film has been composed by Amit Trivedi, while Sudhakar Reddy Yakkanti is the cinematographer, and Sandeep Francis is the editor.
