Former US President Barack Obama has revealed his list of favourite movies from 2023.

Continuing with his annual year-end tradition, former US President Barack Obama has revealed his list of favourite movies from 2023. Along with the list, Barack Obama also acknowledged the strikes of writers and actors that occurred in Hollywood during this year, and he expressed his admiration for the industry's resilience in producing outstanding cinema despite the challenges.

Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Barack Obama wrote, "Earlier this year, writers and actors went on strike to advocate for better working conditions and protections. It led to important changes that will transform the industry for the better.”

“Here are some films that reflect their hard work over the last year — including some like Rustin, American Symphony, and Leave the World Behind that we were proud to release through @HGMedia. What films did I miss," he added.

The top three films on Barack Obama's list for the year includes -- 'Rustin', 'Leave The World Behind', and 'American Symphony'. For the unversed, all three movies were produced by Higher Ground, an American production company founded by him and his wife Michelle Obama.

His other favourite movies of 2023 include Christopher Nolan's 'Oppenheimer'. He also included 'Air', 'Past Lives and 'A Thousand and One' in the list.

Other notable mentions in Barack Obama's list includes 'The Holdovers', 'Blackberry', 'American Fiction', 'Anatomy of a Fall', 'Monster' and 'Polite Society'. 

It is important to mention that some of the most widely discussed films of the year, failed to make it to Barack Obama's list.

Films like 'Barbie' and 'Killers of the Flower Moon' failed to make it to Barack Obama's list.
