Oscar-winning actress Lupita Nyong'o wore a vibrant a saree at the opening of director Mira Nair’s musical ‘Monsoon Wedding’ in New York.
Academy Award-winning actress Lupita Nyong’o, known for movies like ‘Black Panther’, ‘Us’, and ’12 Years A Slave’, is also popular among the masses for her stunning looks and impeccable fashion sense. And her latest fashion outing is no exception, having taken social media by storm. The actress was among the many celebrities who recently attended the opening night of Mira Nair's stage adaptation of ‘Monsoon Wedding’ the musical at St. Ann's Warehouse in New York City.
The Oscar-winning actress attended the event wearing a multi-coloured saree and traditional Indian jewellery. While Lupita’s desi look won many hearts, her detailed henna tattoo on her shaved head stole all the limelight.
Lupita Nyong’o shared stunning pictures and videos of her desi avatar on her Instagram account, proving that she’s a true fashion icon who can nail just about any look.

Along with congratulating director Mira Nair on her musical, Lupita Nyong’o also gave a shoutout to Sabeena, a self-taught henna artist in New York who created the tattoo and Misha Japanwala, the fashion designer who lent her the saree.
Fans were mighty impressed with her desi look and took to the comment section of the post to praise Lupita Nyong’o.

She paired it with heavy ethnic Indian earrings and an eye-catching, intricate henna tattoo on her shaved head. The henna tattoo, featuring floral detailing, covered her newly shaved head and looked stunning.
The actress showed her desi look as she gave different poses in the vibrant saree. She also greeted fans with a namaste in the clip.
Talking about Lupita, she has worked in Hollywood films such as ‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever’, ‘12 Years A Slave’, ‘Black Panther’, and ‘Us’, among others. She won the Oscar in the best supporting actress category for ‘12 Years A Slave’.
Lupita and Mira Nair have collaborated for the 2016 film ‘Queen of Katwe’. Additionally, Lupita Nyong'o had the opportunity to intern under Mira Nair while working on ‘The Namesake’.
