BTS Army, this is not a drill! V, also known as Kim Taehyung, has officially announced his first solo album titled ‘Layover’. It is set to drop on September 8, 2023. According to Pop Crave, V’s ‘Layover’ will feature six songs, including ‘Rainy Days’, ‘Blue’, ‘Love Me Again’, ‘Slow Dancing’, ‘For Us’, and ‘Slow Dancing (Piano Version)’. Hee Jin Min, the CEO of ADOR, a subsidiary of the prominent K-pop powerhouse Hybe, has played a pivotal role in guiding the creative direction of the album.

Reportedly, will be showcasing new performances and will make several appearances to promote his album.

BTS has been no stranger to individual success, with several members dominating the charts with their solo projects. In 2023, Suga and Jimin’s individual endeavours, ‘Agust D’ and ‘Face’ respectively, soared to No 2 on the Billboard 200 chart.

In 2022, rapper J-Hope released ‘Jack in the Box’, and RM unveiled ‘Indigo’. The singers witnessed notable chart successes with their solo albums. Additionally, Jung Kook is currently making waves with his debut solo single ‘Seven’, which made it to the Hot 100 chart.

As per several reports, the members of BTS stopped performing together after a few among them went for mandatory military service.

On Monday, the group’s record label BigHit Music announced that another BTS member, Suga, is set to begin his military service.

The statement read, “Hello. This is BigHit Music. We would like to inform our fans that Suga has initiated the military enlistment process by applying for the termination of his enlistment postponement. We will inform you of further updates in due course.”

It further read, “We ask you for your continued love and support for Suga until he completes his military service and safely returns. Our company will spare no effort in providing support for our artiste. Thank you.”

Coming back to V, before Layover, he has treated fans with several solo songs over the years. His solo song ‘Christmas Tree’, released in 2021, solidified V's position as one of the initial BTS members to make an appearance on the Hot 100 chart as a solo artist.

His other solo tracks include ‘Stigma’ (2016), ‘Singularity’ (2018), ‘Scenery’ (2019), ‘Inner Child’ (2020), and more.
