Earlier, 'Dune 2' was slated to release in theatres in November this year.

The 'Dune 2' postponement comes as the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes continue to go on.

For the unversed, due to the SAG-AFTRA strike, actors may not be able to do press interviews for any films and this would have meant that the entire star-studded cast of 'Dune 2' not being on the press circuit as part of promotional campaign for the new Hollywood movie.

Apart from Timothee Chalamet and Zendaya, the star cast of 'Dune 2' also includes, Austin Butler, Florence Pugh, Rebecca Ferguson, Javier Bardem Dave Bautista, Christopher Walken, Lea Seydoux among others.

The official synopsis of 'Dune: Part Two" from Warner Bros and Legendary Entertainment reads: "This follow-up film will explore the mythic journey of Paul Atreides as he unites with Chani and the Fremen while on a warpath of revenge against the conspirators who destroyed his family. Facing a choice between the love of his life and the fate of the known universe, he endeavors to prevent a terrible future only he can foresee.”

'Dune: Part One' had released in 2021 and it was a science fiction film based on the 1965 novel by Frank Herbert. The first part of the movie covered the first half of the book. The film followed 'Paul Atreides' and the noble House Atreides, and how they are thrust into a war for the deadly and inhospitable desert planet Arrakis.
