'Dune: Part Two' is one of the most-anticipated movies of recent times, and ticket sales are going through the roof. In the latest entertainment news, the ticket sales for the Zendaya and Timothee Chalamet-starrer are flowing as freely as spice on the desert planet of Arrakis. As per Variety, director Denis Villeneuve‘s big-budget sequel is targetting an USD 70 to 80 million in its opening weekend. In the latest Hollywood news, at the international box office, the follow-up to 2021's 'Dune' is projected to collect USD 80 to 90 million from roughly 70 markets.

For the unversed, 'Dune: Part Two' was originally slated to release in cinemas last year, but it was delayed to March 2024 due to the actors' strike.

Going by the current estimates, 'Dune: Part Two' should be able to score the biggest opening weekend in the US since last year's 'Five Nights at Freddy’s'.

Based on the second half of Frank Herbet's book, 'Dune 2' will continue the quest of Chalamet's Paul Atreides, who is seeking safety in the desert after powerful royals betray his family.

'Dune: Part Two' will resume the story of Paul Atreides (Chalamet) as he joins forces with the Fremen to save the galaxy from the Harkonnen empire. Harkonnen empire was responsible for the death of Paul's father.

'Dune: Part Two' cast includes Chalamet, Zendaya, Rebecca Ferguson, Josh Brolin, Dave Bautista, Stellan Skarsgård, Charlotte Rampling and Javier Bardem. Newcomers to 'Dune' franchise are Florence Pugh, Christopher Walken and Léa Seydoux.

'Dune: Part One' had released in 2021 and it was a science fiction film based on the 1965 novel by Frank Herbert. The first part of the movie covered the first half of the book. The film followed 'Paul Atreides' and the noble House Atreides, and how they are thrust into a war for the deadly and inhospitable desert planet Arrakis.

The film is slated to release in India on February 29. It is important to mention that 'Dune: Part Two' will be available in just the IMAX version on February 29.

In the US, 'Dune: Part Two' will be releasing in cinemas, a day later, on March 1.
