Glen Powell Shuts Down Producer's Claim That Ryan Gosling's Appeal Is "Limited To Females"
Here's what Glen Powell had to say about a producer's claim that Ryan Gosling's appeal is "limited to females."
Looks like 'Twisters' star Glen Powell is also a fan of Ryan Gosling and his star power. In the latest entertainment news, Glen Powell took to X (formerly Twitter) to respond to a viral comment from an unnamed Hollywood producer, who called the actor the biggest up-and-coming movie star in Hollywood. However, the same producer also threw some shade at Ryan Gosling. While speaking to The Wrap, the unnamed producer said that Powell is a movie star "in the sense that audiences now go to movies to see him." However, the producer also gave Gosling a back-handed compliment, saying, "Unlike an actor like Ryan Gosling whose appeal is mostly limited to female audiences, Glen appeals to both females and males.”
Responding to the producer's comment, Glen Powell on X wrote, "Gosling is a legend. I’m just Glen."

For the unversed, Powell made this comment as a riff on Ryan Gosling's iconic 'I'm Just Ken' slogan from 'Barbie'.
Glen Powell's response is now going viral on social media as it has garnered more than 14 million views, generating 3,28,000 likes and 16,000 retweets.
For the uninitiated, Glen Powell has emerged as a massive movie star at a time when Hollywood is struggling to launch new A-listers.
George Clooney had recently also told GQ magazine that changes at the major studios have lessened Hollywood’s power to create movie stars.
“They haven’t developed stars the way the studio system used to,” Clooney said of Hollywood.
“[Brad Pitt and I] kind of were at the very end of that, where you could work at a studio and do three or four films, and there was some plan to it. And I don’t think that’s necessarily the case anymore. So it’s harder for you to sell somebody something on the back of a star," he added.
Speaking of Glen Powell, he has several projects lined up, including Edgar Wright’s 'The Running Man' and the Hulu comedy series 'Chad Powers'.
