Harry Potter Actor Who Played Draco Malfoy Joins Hansal Mehta's Series 'Gandhi'

Tom Felton, who played Draco Malfoy in the uber-popular Harry Potter movies, has joined the cast for Hansal Mehta's upcoming series 'Gandhi'.

Tom Felton has joined the cast for Hansal Mehta's upcoming series 'Gandhi'.

'Harry Potter' actor Tom Felton, who played the role of Draco Malfoy in the uber-popular franchise, has joined the cast for Hansal Mehta's upcoming web series 'Gandhi'. In the show about the father of the nation, Tom Felton will be playing the role of Josiah Oldfield, Gandhi’s first and best friend, as reported by Deadline. For the unversed, Josiah Oldfield was Mahatma Gandhi's best friend during a period the former spent in London while studying law. 'Scam 1992: The Harshad Mehta Story' actor Pratik Gandhi is playing the main role of Mahatma Gandhi in the series. As per Deadline, Bhamini Oza will be playing the role of Kasturba Gandhi, Mahatma’s wife.

Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Hansal Mehta wrote, "Delighted to be directing this stellar international cast. #Gandhi filming now." 

“I’m excited to be part of the journey of telling the story of Gandhi’s early years in London. It’s an important aspect of history that hasn’t been told on screen before, and to be working with Hansal and Pratik is an honour and pleasure," Deadline quoted Tom Felton as saying.

Other British members of the cast include James Murray, Jonno Davies, Molly Wright, Simon Lennon, Ralph Adeniyi, Libby Mai and Lindon Alexander. 

The show is being produced by Sameer Nair’s Applause Entertainment.

“Working with an exceptionally talented cast has been nothing but a privilege. The casting of some exceptional international actors to our ensemble is even more exciting as we prepare to take our labour of love to audiences worldwide," said Hansal Mehta, as reported by Deadline.

Hansal Mehta is the director and showrunner of 'Gandhi'. The series has been written by Vaibhav Vishal, Karan Vyas, Felix Von Stumm, Hema Gopinath, Sehaj Maini and Yashna Malhotra.
