JioCinema To The Rescue As HBO Content Finally Finds Its New Home In India
Fans of HBO shows and movies in India, we have the news that you all have been waiting to hear.
Ever since HBO content bid adieu to Disney+ Hotstar on March 31, fans in India were desperate to find out about the new home for shows like 'House of the Dragon', 'Succession', 'The Last of Us', and 'The White Lotus'. After waiting almost an entire month, we have the news that all HBO content fans were waiting for in India. JioCinema will now be streaming the HBO content from May. This was made possible after Warner Bros. Discovery and Viacom18 revealed a multi-year agreement. With this agreement, JioCinema has now become India's new streaming home for HBO, Max Originals and Warner Bros. content.
As per Variety, television series will be premiering on JioCinema on the same day as the USA.
The deal includes current and future seasons of HBO flagship shows like 'Succession', 'House of the Dragon', 'The Last of Us', 'The White Lotus' and 'Euphoria'.
Shows like 'The Idol', 'The Sympathizer', 'White House Plumbers', 'The Regime' will also be premiering on Jio Cinema.

"This new agreement demonstrates our commitment to South Asia as we seek to entertain audiences across more platforms, and further strengthens the scale of our regional business as a whole," he added.
JioCinema has been making all the right noises and last year, Viacom18 had agreed to pay USD 3 billion to get the digital streaming rights of the Indian Premier League (IPL).
The IPL is currently available on JioCinema free of cost, and it has not been revealed whether the platform would charge an amount from users for HBO content.
JioCinema has also begun with its own film and TV production efforts.
