Matthew Perry's Autopsy Complete, Cause Of Death "Deferred"
Matthew Perry was found unresponsive at his home on Saturday.
Matthew Perry, known for playing the iconic role of Chandler Bing in 'Friends', passed away on Saturday, aged 54. In the latest Hollywood news, the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner's office has released its first report on the death of the actor. For the unversed, Perry was first discovered unresponsive in a hot tub at his Los Angeles home, as reported by The Los Angeles Times.
The coroner's office has now updated the case online, saying that the cause of death has been "deferred". This basically means that an autopsy has been completed but the examiner needs more time to do additional investigation into the death, reported The Hollywood Reporter.
“Deferred means that after an autopsy, a cause of death has not been determined and the medical examiner is requesting more investigation into the death, including additional studies,” a spokesperson for the department previously explained, when the coroner deferred the case of death for Lisa Marie Presley, who died in January, as reported by Hollywood Reporter.
“Once the tests/studies come back, the doctor evaluates the case again and makes the cause of death determination," said the spokesperson further.
Earlier, People Magazine had quoted a spokesperson, who said that Perry's autopsy is pending a toxicology report, and it can take several weeks to complete.
