In a statement shared with Page Six, the couple termed the divorce as a "difficult decision" and the duo also asked for respect and privacy. “We have made the difficult decision to divorce. As two people that love and care for one another very much, we politely ask for respect of our privacy at this time as we navigate this new phase of our lives," they said in an official statement.
For the uninitiated, Sofia Vergara and Joe Manganiello got married to each other in Florida in November 2015.
As per a report in Page Six, Sofia and Joe were growing apart for a while now and the duo has maintained some distance from each other to contemplate their future.
As per the same report, the couple was last seen together in Hoboken, NJ, when Sofia Vagera visited Joe on the set of his new project, 'Nonnas' with Vince Vaughn.
Earlier, fans started speculating about the couple when Sofia Vagera was celebrating her 51st birthday in Italy and Joe Manganiello was nowhere to be found in the pictures.

She also featured as one of the judges on 'America's Got Talent'.
Talking about Joe Manganiello, he has starred in shows like 'True Blood' and 'How I Met Your Mother'. He has also starred in movies like 'Magic Mike', 'What To Expect When You’re Expecting', 'Sabotage', 'Justice League' and 'Rampage'.
He had started his acting career with Sam Raimi's 'Spider-Man', in which he played the character of Flash Thompson.
