David Corenswet Is New Superman, Rachel Brosnahan Cast As Lois Lane
The wait is now over, as a new Clark Kent has been knighted, and it is none other than David Corenswet.
After it was announced that Henry Cavill would no longer play the role of 'Superman', fans have been waiting to see who DC Studios chooses to play the superhero. The wait is now over, as a new Clark Kent has been knighted, and it is none other than David Corenswet. Rachel Brosnahan of 'The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel' fame has been cast as Lois Lane. These two will be playing the iconic roles in James Gunn's 'Superman: Legacy'. The latest on-screen story of 'Superman' will largely be a workplace origin story.
David Corenswet is known for his role in Ryan Murphy's Netflix series 'Hollywood' and he will now be playing a reporter at the fictional newspaper The Daily Planet in the 'Superman' movie. Broshanan will be playing his co-worker in the film.
James Gunn is directing the movie from his own screenplay. The movie is slated to release in the theatres on July 11, 2025.
“It focuses on Superman balancing his Kryptonian heritage with his human upbringing,” DC steward Peter Safran had said earlier this year when he and Gunn unveiled a lengthy block of planned DC films and series.
“He is the embodiment of truth, justice and the American way. He is kindness in a world that thinks of kindness as old-fashioned," he added.
David Corenswet will next be seen in Apple's 'The Lady in the Lake', also starring Natalie Portman.
Talking about Rachel Broshanan, she is famous for playing the lead in 'The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel'. She has also starred in projects like 'House of Cards', 'The Courier', and 'Dead For a Dollar."
