Here's all you need to know about the ongoing feud between rap icons Nicki Minaj and Megan Thee Stallion.
If you go through the internet these days, you will find many people discussing the ongoing feud between rap icons Nicki Minaj and Megan Thee Stallion. But are you wondering what the entire beef is all about between the two? If yes, we have you covered, and in this piece, we will delve into what is transpiring between Nicki and Megan, and what the entire issue is all about.
However, the latest development first. In the latest Hollywood news, Nicki Minaj came out with a track 'Big Foot', which is apparently a diss track in retaliation to Megan Thee Stallion‘s recently released single 'Hiss'.
'Big Foot' takes potshots at Megan's life and career. The entire feud reached its boiling point over the weekend after Megan came out with her song 'Hiss'.
As per Variety, Megan's song was about the various aspects of her tumultuous life as a public figure, but one line in the song caught the attention of Minaj.
“These h*s don’t be mad at Megan, these h*s mad at Megan’s Law. I don’t really know what the problem is, but I guarantee y’all don’t want me to start," Megan raps in her song.
For the unversed, Megan's Law is a federal law, which requires law enforcement to make information available about registered sex offenders. Several netizens then linked it as an apparent dig from Megan to Minaj's husband Kenneth Petty, who is a registered sex offender.
For the unversed, Petty was convicted of attempted rape in April 1995 for an assault on a 16-year-old girl, reported Variety. However, Nicki Minaj has repeatedly defended her husband.
As soon as Megan's song was released, Nicki Minaj did an Instagram Live to defend her husband.
Now coming to Minaj's song 'Big Foot', and addressing Megan's track, Nicki said in her track, "You bringing up 30-year-old tea from when this man was a 15-year-old child. You bringing up 30-year-old tea cause no man will ever f***g love you, and lying on your dead mother."
For the unversed, Megan's mother had passed away in 2019. The lyrics in Nicki Minaj's 'Big Foot' also makes claims about Megan "lying on your dead momma", and the shooting incident with Tory Lanez.
“Bad b**h, she like 6 foot, I call her Big Foot, the b**h fell off, I said get up on your good foot,” Minaj raps.
"H*e, the things that you’ve lied about, even pertaining to your mom — you don’t want them out, OK," she adds.
For the unversed, Minaj and Megan were not at loggerheads always, as they had earlier collaborated on the latter’s 2019 single 'Hot Girl Summer'.
However, fans believe that the relationship between the two soured after that track released.
Fans also believed that when Minaj released her album 'Pink Friday 2' in December, she sent a vague shot at Megan through the track 'FTCU', where she referenced a line that nodded towards Tory Lanez.
"Stay in your Tory Lanez, b***h, I’m not Iggy,” she said in the track, clearly referring to Iggy Azalea, who wrote a letter to the judge in support of Lanez during his trial in the fallout from the alleged Megan shooting, reported Variety.
