Get ready for a new film in the 'Star Wars' franchise!

Brace yourselves to see the much-loved characters Mandalorian and Baby Yoda on the biggest screen possible. Yes, 'Star Wars' fans, we have some superb news for you! The franchise is planning to come up with a new film for the big screen, featuring Mandalorian and Grogu, and it will be directed by Jon Favreau. As per Variety, the film is titled 'The Mandalorian and Grogu', and it will be going into production later this year.

For the unversed, Jon Favreau created the Disney+ series 'The Mandalorian', and it follows a helmet-wearing bounty hunter, played by Pedro Pascal, and how he goes on a mission to protect a young and adorable alien named Grogu.

The character of Grogu is known by the fans of Star Wars as Baby Yoda.

It is not known whether the film will fit into the timeline of the live-action series, which has so far aired three seasons. The fourth season of the show is currently in development.

“I have loved telling stories set in the rich world that George Lucas created,” Favreau said in a statement, as per Variety.

“The prospect of bringing the Mandalorian and his apprentice Grogu to the big screen is extremely exciting," he added.

For the unversed, 'The Mandalorian and Grogu' is the first 'Star Wars' movie in the works after 2019's 'Star Wars: The Rise Of Skywalker'.

Favreau will be producing 'The Mandalorian and Grogu' with Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy and 'Ahsoka' creator Dave Filoni.

“Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni have ushered into Star Wars two new and beloved characters, and this new story is a perfect fit for the big screen,” Kennedy said.
