'The Boys' Season 4 Finale Adds Warning For Assassination Storyline After Attack On Donald Trump
'The Boys' Season 4 finale has now included a warning for the assassination storyline after the attack on Donald Trump.
'The Boys' Season 4 has finally come to an end, as the finale premiered today on Prime Video. In the latest entertainment news, Amazon has now released a statement and added a warning to the Season 4 finale, which marks the conclusion to a season-long storyline that has taken place between a presidential election and inauguration day, during which assassination attempts are made on the president-elect and vice president-elect, as reported by Variety. It is important to mention that the Season 4 finale has released just days after an assassination attempt on former U.S. president — and current presidential candidate — Donald Trump.
The Season 4 finale was previously titled 'Assassination Run'. It was written more than a year ago and was filmed last year. The episode has now been retitled to 'Season Four Finale' and the makers have also added a "viewer discretion advised” warning at the beginning.
“The season finale of ‘The Boys’ contains scenes of fictional political violence, which some viewers may find disturbing, especially in light of the injuries and tragic loss of life sustained during the assassination attempt on former President Trump,” read a statement shared by Prime Video, as reported by Variety.
“’The Boys’ is a fictitious series that was filmed in 2023, and any scene or plotline similarities to these real-world events are coincidental and unintentional. Amazon, Sony Pictures Television and the producers of ‘The Boys’ reject, in the strongest terms, real-world violence of any kind," the statement added.
For the unversed, 'The Boys' Season 4 is set in the aftermath of the election of the presidential candidate Robert Singer (Jim Beaver) and his running mate, the undercover super-powered Victoria Neuman (Claudia Doumit).
'The Boys' has been developed by Eric Kripke for Amazon Prime Video. The show is based on the comic book of the same name by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson, and the plot of the series follows the eponymous team of vigilantes as they combat super-powered individuals who abuse their powers.
The series features an ensemble cast that includes Karl Urban, Jack Quaid, Antony Starr, Erin Moriarty, Dominique McElligott, Jessie T Usher, Chace Crawford, Laz Alonso, Tomer Capone, Karen Fukuhara, and Nathan Mitchell.
