Twist In Matthew Perry’s Death? Report Says LAPD’s Robbery Homicide Division Investigating Case
Actor Matthew Perry was found unresponsive in his jacuzzi at his home in California, his death sending shockwaves across Hollywood.
‘Friends’ star Matthew Perry death sent shockwaves across Hollywood, many expressing their anguish on social media. Matthew Perry’s ‘Friends’ co-stars and his peers from Hollywood also took to social media to express their shock and pay their tribute to the late actor. In the latest update on Matthew Perry’s death, the TMZ has reported that the Hollywood actor’s is now being investigated by LAPD's Robbery Homicide Division.
While this news might be disturbing for many Matthew Perry fans, the police say there is no suspicion of foul play as of now. The cops claim that Robbery Homicide Division investigating the case is just standard procedure.
“The Robbery Homicide Division is looking to make sure there is nothing nefarious involved in Matthew's death, and it's normal for RHD to take the lead on high-profile cases because RHD has the experience and manpower necessary,” TMZ quoted LAPD as saying.
In the past Matthew Perry has spoken about his struggles with substance abuse, but as per TMZ, “Law enforcement searched Matthew's home and did not find any illicit drugs”.
Earlier, the coroner’s office deferred the cause of death in Matthew Perry’s case.
“Deferred means that after an autopsy, a cause of death has not been determined and the medical examiner is requesting more investigation into the death, including additional studies,” a spokesperson for the department previously explained, when the coroner deferred the case of death for Lisa Marie Presley, who died in January, as reported by Hollywood Reporter.
“Once the tests/studies come back, the doctor evaluates the case again and makes the cause of death determination," said the spokesperson further.
