HCA explains why Jr NTR was absent from award ceremony.

The Hollywood Critics Association on Tuesday explained the reason behind actor Jr NTR being absent from the recently held award ceremony. The award show was attended by 'RRR' director SS Rajamouli, actor Ram Charan and music composer MM Keeravani. However, upon seeing Jr NTR not being there, the fans of the actor started asking why he was not present. Now, the Hollywood Critics Association have said that the actor was indeed invited, but he could not make it to prior commitments.

Taking to Twitter, the HCA wrote: "Dear RRR fans & supporters, we did invite N. T. Rama Rao Jr. to attend the #HCAFilmAwards but he is shooting a new film in India. He will be receiving his awards from us shortly. Thank you for all your love and support. Sincerely, The Hollywood Critics Association.”

To this tweet, a fan replied saying that JR NTR could not attend the ceremony as his brother passed away last week.

To this, the HCA said: "“He was originally shooting a movie which is why he couldn’t attend. His brother passing happened afterwards and is why he stepped away from the movie. This is what his publicist told us."

At the award ceremony, 'RRR' picked up the accolades for best international film, best action film, best song (Naatu Naatu) and best stunts.

'RRR' song 'Naatu Naatu' is also nominated in the Best Song category at the Oscars. The song had previously won a Golden Globe award as well.

The Oscars will take place on March 12 (March 13 morning in India).
