It was a proud moment for Indians when the hit song ‘Naatu Naatu’ from SS Rajamouli’s blockbuster ‘RRR’ won at Oscars 2023. The song went on to grab the coveted trophy after stiff competition with some of the biggest tracks sung by popular artists. Winning the Academy Award in the Best Original Song category, the announcement at Oscars 2023 had everyone cheering. However, the loudest cheer definitely came from competitor Lady Gaga. Giving team ‘RRR' a standing ovation upon their Oscars 2023 win, the singer was seen cheering enthusiastically.

A Twitter fan page dedicated to Lady Gaga shared a glimpse of the singer cheering for team ‘RRR’ after losing out to them.

Lady Gaga’s reaction to the winning moment of ‘Naatu Naatu’ has left fans in complete awe of her, who took to the comments section of the tweet and dropped sweet messages for her.

One fan wrote, “Lady G is one of most gracious recording artists in the business.”

Another fan added, “I love that I stan this woman because she is always so positive and such a pure soul!! She knew how important the song was and what historical moment it would have.”

A third user commented, “I love that she genuinely cares about others’ success and recognition at these shows. She’s just rooting for great art like we all are at the end of the day!”

A fan wrote, “Gaga is too kind, she’s such a cheerleader,” another one mentioned, “she's queen for a reason.”

‘Naatu Naatu’ not only became the first ever Telugu song to have won an Oscar but also become the first song from the industry to be performed at the Oscars. The live performance by singers Rahul Sipligunj and Kaala Bhairava received a standing ovation. 

Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone, who was one of the Oscar presenters, introduced the performance of ‘Naatu Naatu’ during the prestigious event.

Apart from ‘Naatu Naatu’, other Indian contenders at the 95th Academy Awards were Shaunak Sen’s documentary feature ‘All That Breathes’, which lost to ‘Navalny’ and Kartiki Gonsalves-directed documentary ‘The Elephant Whisperers’, which bagged an Oscar in the Best Documentary Shorts category.

Talking about ‘RRR’, the movie stars Ram Charan, Jr NTR, Shriya Saran, Alia Bhatt, and Ajay Devgn, among others. The film tells a fictional story based on the lives of two Telugu freedom fighters -- Alluri Seetharama Raju and Komaram Bheem, with Ram Charan and Jr NTR playing the lead roles. 

The film collected over Rs 1,200 crore worldwide, making it one of the highest-grossing Indian films.
