She achieved this phenomenal record on March 18 and this feat comes less than a month after she surpassed Kylie Jenner to become the most followed woman on Instagram. Selena Gomez is now the third most followed person on the platform after football legends Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi. After reaching 400 million followers on Instagram, Selena Gomez shared a heartfelt post.
"Wishing I could hug all 400 million of you," Selena Gomez wrote as the caption on Instagram.
As of now, Selena Gomez has 401 million followers on the social media platform.
Cristiano Ronaldo has 563 million followers while World Cup-winning Argentine Lionel Messi has 443 million followers.
Kylie Jenner has 382 million followers while the official Instagram account has 619 million followers.
When it comes to women who are in the top 10 list of most-followed celebrities on Instagram, Ariana Grande has 361 million followers, Kim Kardashian has 349 million while Beyonce has 301 million.
