Singer and Hollywood actress Selena Gomez has become the first woman to reach 400 million followers on Instagram. She achieved this phenomenal record on March 18 and this feat comes less than a month after she surpassed Kylie Jenner to become the most followed woman on Instagram. Selena Gomez is now the third most followed person on the platform after football legends Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi. After reaching 400 million followers on Instagram, Selena Gomez shared a heartfelt post.

As of now, Selena Gomez has 401 million followers on the social media platform. 

Cristiano Ronaldo has 563 million followers while World Cup-winning Argentine Lionel Messi has 443 million followers.

Kylie Jenner has 382 million followers while the official Instagram account has 619 million followers. 

When it comes to women who are in the top 10 list of most-followed celebrities on Instagram, Ariana Grande has 361 million followers, Kim Kardashian has 349 million while Beyonce has 301 million.

Selena Gomez had risen to prominence after starring as Alex Russo on 'Wizards of Waverly Place'. She then appeared in the films like 'Another Cinderella Story', 'Wizards of Waverly Place: The Movie', and 'Ramona and Beezus'.

Selena Gomez has also executively produced the Netflix hit television series '13 Reasons Why '. She also stars in the hit Hulu mystery-comedy series 'Only Murders in the Building'.

She was named Billboard's Woman of the Year in 2017, and she also broke 15 Guinness World Records. Time magazine had also named her one of the 100 most influential people in the world in 2020.
