Hotstar to stop streaming HBO content from March 31.

We have some bad news for you, if you are a fan of shows like 'House of Dragon', 'Succession', and 'The Last of Us'. Disney+ Hotstar has ended its partnership with HBO, and as a result, HBO shows will not be available on Hotstar in India after March 31. Disney+ Hotstar confirmed the news on Twitter, saying: "Starting 31st March, HBO content will be unavailable on Disney+ Hotstar. You can continue enjoying Disney+ Hotstar's vast library of content spanning over 100,000 hours of TV Shows and Movies in 10 languages and coverage of major global sporting events."]

As of now, it is not known on which platform the HBO shows will be available starting April 1. As per several media reports, Prime Video is likely to stream HBO shows, however, it is not known whether that would come as an add-on benefit with your existing Prime Video membership or you would have to pay extra to watch HBO original content.

As soon as Disney+ Hotstar confirmed this development on Twitter, fans expressed their displeasure.

For the unversed, Disney+ Hotstar had lost the streaming rights of the Indian Premier League (IPL) last year, and this saw a substantial dip in subscriptions.
