Taylor Swift To Make Feature Film Directorial Debut. Here’s What We Know So Far
Taylor Swift is all set to make her feature film directorial debut following the success of her short film ‘All Too Well’.
Taylor Swift, who recently wrote and directed the 14-minute ‘All Too Well: The Short Film’, is all set to make her feature film directorial debut, based on an original script that the singer has penned. As per People Magazine, the movie will be produced by Searchlight Pictures, which has made Oscar-winning movies like Guillermo del Toro's 2017 film ‘The Shape of Water’ and Chloe Zhao's 2020 drama ‘Nomadland’. The other details about the film's plot and casting have not been revealed yet.
This project announcement comes after the success of her ‘All Too Well’ short film, which was inspired by the 10-minute version of her popular song ‘All Too Well’, which appears on the re-released album ‘Red (Taylor's Version)’.
‘All Too Well: The Short Film’, which stars Dylan O'Brien and Sadie Sink, recently won Taylor Swift a best direction award at the 2022 MTV VMAs. This win made her the only solo artist to receive the award twice. Taylor Swift previously won the award for her work on the music video for her single ‘The Man’.
‘All Too Well: The Short Film’, which Taylor Swift wrote and directed, screened at the 2022 Tribeca Film Festival and Toronto International Film Festival. ‘All Too Well: The Short Film’ is eligible to be nominated for Best Live Action Short Film at the upcoming 95th Oscars ceremony in March 2023, as per People Magazine.
In October 2022, Taylor Swift released ‘Midnights’, her 10th studio album. The Grammy-winning singer has also acted on screen, appearing in ‘Valentine’s Day’, ‘Cats’ and in David O. Russell’s 2022 directorial ‘Amsterdam’.
