Michelle Yeoh is a bonafide star! The actress won her first Golden Globe in the best actress category in a motion picture, musical, or comedy for her role in 'Everything Everywhere All At Once'. However, this was not the highlight of her win, rather it was her telling the producers of Golden Globes to "shut up" as they attempted to cut her speech short.
"Shut up please, I can beat you up," said Yeoh when the music started to play midway through her speech. "And that's serious," she said further, as reported by Variety.

At the start of her speech, she said: "I’m just going to stand here and take this all in. Forty years… I’m not letting go of this. When I first came to Hollywood, it was a dream come true, until I got here. I came here and was told, You’re a minority."
Talking about her role in 'Everything Everywhere All At Once', Michelle said: "I was given this gift of playing this woman who resonated so deeply with me and with so many people because, at the end of the day, in whatever universe she was at, she was fighting for love, for her family.”
“This is also for all the shoulders that I stand on, all who came before me, who look like me, and all who are going on this journey with me forward,” she added.
Michelle Yeoh is the second Asian star to win in the category, the first being Awkwafina in 2020 for 'The Farewell'.
Michelle Yeoh beat out Lesley Manville for 'Mrs. Harris Goes to Paris', Margot Robbie for 'Babylon', Anya Taylor-Joy for 'The Menu' and Emma Thompson for 'Good Luck to You, Leo Grande'.
'Everything Everywhere All at Once', directed by Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert, features Michelle Yeoh as Evelyn Wang, a Chinese immigrant swept up in a wild adventure, where she's dropped into other universes on a mission to save her world.
