1. 'Nope'
Jordon Peele continued his love-affair with the horror genre in 2022 as well and his latest offering 'Nope' turned out to be a massive success. The movie is a neo-Western science-fiction horror film. The movie stars Daniel Kaluuya and Keke Palmer in the lead roles and the duo play horse-wrangling siblings who are trying to put evidence together of an unidentified flying object. Steven Yeun, Michael Wincott, Brandon Perea, and Keith David also have supporting roles in this particular movie.

2. 'Barbarian'
This movie turned out to be one of the biggest sleeper hits of 2022. When the teaser-trailer for this particular flick came out, no one expected the movie to be this good. The movie is directed by Zach Cregger and the movie stars Georgina Campbell, Bill Skarsgard, and Justin Long in lead roles. The plot of the movie revolves around a woman finding out that the rented house she reserved was already accidentally double-booked with a man. And eventually the duo find out about the dark and scary secrets which lies in the dwelling.
'Barbarian' trule offered a chilling and unpredictable thrill ride for horror fans. The movie is available for streaming on Disney+ Hotstar in India.
3. 'The Black Phone'
The horror movie, which has been directed by Scott Derrickson, is an adaptation of the 2004 short story which goes by the same name by Joe Hill. The film has Mason Thames, Madeleine McGraw, Jeremy Davies, James Ransone, and Ethan Hawke playing the main characters. The plot of the movie revolves around an abducted teenager (Thames) and how he uses a mysterious telephone to communicate with the previous victims of his deranged captor (Hawke).

4. 'Crimes Of The Future'
The David Cronerberg-directorial is a science-fiction body horror drama and Viggo Mortensen, Lea Seydoux and Kristen Stewart play lead characters in the movie. The film marked Cronerberg's return to the horror genre after his 1999-directorial Existenz.
The movie held its world premiere at the 2022 Cannes Film Festival, and it ended up receiving a six-minute standing ovation. The movie is available for streaming on Amazon Prime Video in India.
5. 'Scream'
The movie which has been directed by Matt Bettinelli-Olpin, is the fifth installment in the 'Scream' film series. The movie is a direct sequel to 'Scream 4' which had released in 2011 and this is the first film in the series to not be directed by Wes Craven, following his death in 2015. The events in the movie take place 25 years after the original Woodsboro murders. In the movie, another Ghostface appears and begins targeting a group of teenagers who are each somehow linked to the original killings.
