Konda Surekha Retracts Statement On Naga Chaitanya And Samantha Ruth Prabhu's Divorce
After receiving criticism for alleging that BRS leader KT Rama Rao was behind Samantha Ruth Prabhu-Naga Chaitanya's divorce, Konda Surekha has retracted her statement.
Telangana minister Konda Surekha is in the eye of a huge storm after her controversial statement on Telugu actors' Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Naga Chaitanya's divorce. In the latest entertainment news, the politician sparked a huge row, when she alleged that Bharat Raksha Samithi (BRS) leader KT Rama Rao (KTR) was behind the actor couple’s divorce.
Surekha has now taken to X (formerly Twitter), retracting her statement about Samantha.
Writing in Telugu, Surekha said, "My intention was only to point out how a leader is belittling towards woman but not to hurt your sentiments, Samantha. The way you have grown exponentially by yourself is something I admire and aspire to. If you or your fans have been hurt by my words, I unconditionally retract them. Please do not take it otherwise.”

Earlier, Surekha's comments outraged many in the film industry, including Jr NTR, Nani, and Prakash Raj.
Taking to X, Jr NTR said, "Konda Surekha garu, dragging personal lives into politics is a new low. t’s disheartening to see baseless statements thrown around carelessly, especially about the film industry. We will not sit quietly while others make baseless allegations against us. Let’s ensure our society does not normalize such reckless behavior in democratic India.”

'Hi Nanna' star Nani shared a strong-worded statement, saying, "Disgusting to see politicians thinking that they can get away talking any kind of nonsense. Actors Naga Chaitanya and Samantha Ruth Prabhu had earlier dismissed the "baseless" claims.
Samantha, in a note, had warned Surekha to keep "her out of politics". Meanwhile, Naga Chaitanya had said, "Exploiting the personal life decisions of celebrities for the sake of media headlines is shameful."

For the unversed, Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Naga Chaitanya had tied the knot in Goa in 2017. However, four years later, the couple announced their separation through a joint post in 2021.
Earlier this year, Naga Chaitanya got engaged to actress Sobhita Dhulipala.
