"We Are All One": 'Brown Munde' Singer AP Dhillon Urges People To "Spread Love Not Hate"
Punjabi singer AP Dhillon has urged people to "spread love, not hate."
Indo-Canadian singer, rapper and producer AP Dhillon, who is known for songs like 'Brown Munde', 'Excuses', 'Summer High', and 'Wo Noor', has penned a note on Instagram, urging people to "spread love not hate." His post comes days after Canada-based singer Shubh's India tour was cancelled following a controversial social media post. In the latest entertainment news, AP Dhillon said that it has become "difficult" for artists to focus on their craft when people take offence so quickly.
“I try to stay out of all the social mania as it is clear to me that regardless of what I say or do, it is a lost cause… someone, somewhere, is going to spin the narrative to their liking and create more division. As an artist, it has become almost impossible to stay focused on your craft and do what you love," AP Dhillon said.
“I try to be mindful of everyone’s sentiments but it’s gotten to a point where we have to second and triple guess our every move due to the fear of unintentionally fueling even more division," he added.
AP Dhillon also said that political groups end up using the public image of artists as a chess piece to further their agenda.
“Special interest and political groups constantly use our public image as a chess piece to further their agenda while we are just trying to make art that helps people on an individual level, regardless of their color, race, religion, nationality, gender, etc," said AP Dhillon.
“Spread love not hate. Let’s start thinking for ourselves and not let hateful influences program our beliefs. We are ALL one. Let’s not let man-made social constructs divide us. Division has gotten us to this point but unity is the key to the future," he added.
For the unversed, Shubh was slated to perform in 11 cities as part of his India tour. But the organisers cancelled his show after severe backlash over the singer's controversial social media post, in which he had shared a distorted image of India’s map.
This tour cancellation came after the ongoing diplomatic row between India and Canada. Both the countries have expelled a senior diplomat.
It all started with the Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau alleging Indian government's hand in the killing of Khalistani terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijjar, reported NDTV.
For the unversed, Shubh is a famous Punjabi singer and rapper and he released his first breakout single 'We Rollin' in 2021, and as of now, the song has generated more than 201 million views on YouTube.
