Players are being sold for massive sums and in the latest trending news, Australia cricket captain Pat Cummins became the costliest player ever in the history of the IPL auction as he was bought by SunRisers Hyderabad for a massive sum of Rs 20.50 crore.
A fierce bidding war took place between SunRisers Hyderabad and Royal Challengers Bangalore, and in the end, it was Kavya Maran's team that ended up going away with Pat Cummins.
For the unversed, Pat Cummins recently led to Australia to their sixth 50-over World Cup trophy after the side defeated India in the final at the Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad.

For the unversed, even Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai Indians showed their interest in Pat Cummins, but they eventually bowed out, paving the way for a fierce bidding war between Royal Challengers Bangalore and SunRisers Hyderabad.
During the ongoing IPL 2024 auction, New Zealand players Rachin Ravindra and Daryl Mitchell were picked up by Chennai Super Kings. The MS Dhoni-led franchise also roped in Shardul Thakur.
Mumbai Indians picked South Africa pacer Gerald Coetzee while Punjab Kings roped in Harshal Patel and Chris Woakes.
