Is Cartoon Network Shutting Down, Why #RIPCartoonNetwork Is Trending: Here's All You Need To Know
#RIPCartoonNetwork is heavily trending on social media with more than 90k posts.
We all have memories attached to Cartoon Network. Our childhood was made better by this TV channel as it aired several fan favourite cartoon shows such as 'Pokemon', 'Tom & Jerry', 'Dexter's Laboratory', 'Johnny Bravo', among others. In the latest entertainment news, hashtag 'RIP Cartoon Network' is trending heavily on social media with more than 90k posts. For the unversed, this entire trend started when a X (formerly Twitter) account named 'Animation Workers Ignited' shared an animation, claiming that Cartoon Network is essentially dead. The post also claimed that other animation studios are also facing similar challenges, due to layoffs in the industry.
"Cartoon Network is dead?!?! Spread the word about what’s at stake for animation!!! Post about your favorite Cartoon Network shows using #RIPCartoonNetwork. Active members of TAG can help by filling out your survey! Today (7/8) is the last day," the post read.
Meanwhile, the animation stated, "Cartoon Network is essentially dead and other big animation studios are not far behind. What happened to all the animation workers? Many are unemployed in record numbers, with some jobless for over a year, despite carrying the industry during the pandemic. When Covid first hit, animation was able to operate completely remotely, making it one of the only forms of entertainment that could continue production uninterrupted. But studios repaid them by cancelling projects, outsourcing jobs, and laying off artists en masse."

Rumors that Cartoon Network is “shutdown” are false.
Although the studio does seem to be in decline pic.twitter.com/XgppDfvDMm
However, we have to report that the rumours of Cartoon Network shutting down is not true. The account 'Animation Workers Ignited' is just using the hashtag #RIPCartoonNetwork to highlight the ongoing challenges being faced by industry workers. The channel itself is not shutting down.
