Will Shah Rukh Khan, Vijay Star In A Movie Together? Here’s What 'Jawan' Director Atlee Said
Atlee, who is basking in the success of ‘Jawan’, recently shared that SRK and Vijay are eager to work together. And he might just make it happen!
Atlee’s recent directorial ‘Jawan’, starring Shah Rukh Khan in the lead role, was released in cinemas worldwide on September 7. The new movie, also starring Nayanthara and Vijay Sethupathi, saw SRK sharing screen space with the South superstars for the first time. Before ‘Jawan’ hit theatres, it was widely speculated that Vijay, fondly referred to by his fans as ‘Thalapathy’, would have a cameo appearance in the film. Many fans were excited to witness the two stars together on the silver screen. However, the reports suggesting Vijay’s cameo turned out to be false, which left many fans disappointed.
But now, Atlee has teased a possible collaboration between SRK and Vijay in a film. Atlee, who has been basking in the success of ‘Jawan’, spoke to RJ and talk show host Siddharth Kannan recently and spilled the beans about a potential collaboration between the two superstars.
Atlee said, “Vijay sir and Shah Rukh sir, both said the same thing that 'bring a script and we will work together'. I also thought that they were saying all this for my birthday as a gift. The next day, Vijay sir messaged me saying that if you are going to write such a script, I will be a part definitely. Shah Rukh sir, who was right next to me said 'Sir, you are serious about this na? We will make a film together, right?'"
The ‘Jawan’ director then added that he is “seriously” working on the script and looking forward to making the project see the light of day.
Atlee said, "So, yes, every now and then they inquire about it and ask me whether I am seriously working on it or not, or if I am taking it as a joke. So, I am definitely, seriously working on it and I am hoping for it to crack someday."
For the unversed, ‘Jawan’ is the first collaboration between SRK and Atlee. Meanwhile, Atlee has worked with Vijay thrice, in the films ‘Theri’ (2016), ‘Mersal’ (2017) and ‘Bigil’ (2019).
‘Jawan’ is making and breaking records ever since it released. The film currently has a total collection of Rs 507.88 crore in all languages and over Rs 450 crore in Hindi.
Produced by Red Chillies Entertainment, ‘Jawan’ features Shah Rukh Khan in the dual role of Vikram Rathore and his son Azad. It also stars Deepika Padukone and Sanjay Dutt in special appearances.
The movie also features Sanya Malhotra, Sunil Grover, Priyamani, Ridhi Dogra, Ashlesha Thakur, Sanjeeta Bhattacharya, Girija Oak, Lehar Khan and Aaliyah Qureishi in pivotal roles.
