Rahul Vaidya has slammed reports that suggested Virat Kohli is going to be dropped from India T20 WC squad.

Former India captain Virat Kohli is arguably one of the greatest batters the country has ever produced. Ever since making his debut for India in 2008, Kohli has possibly been one of the biggest brands, the sport has ever produced. Even the likes of global athletes such as Novak Djokovic, Roger Federer, Harry Kane and Thomas Muller have displayed their admiration for the India batter, who now holds the record of scoring most centuries in the ODI format. In the latest Indian celebrity news, a report sent shockwaves throughout the country as it suggested that Virat Kohli is going to be dropped from the India squad for the upcoming T20 World Cup, which is going to be played in the West Indies and USA.

Now, singer Rahul Vaidya has hit back at these reports, and he hinted towards a conspiracy theory, saying that Kohli might have hurt someone's "ego" within the BCCI.

"Ye thoda jyada ho gaya? Has he upset anyone's ego in BCCI. I know he didn't attend Ambani pre wedding but this is too much," singer Rahul Vaidya wrote on Instagram Stories.

Earlier, a report in the Indian publication Telegraph stated that Kohli "hasn’t been able to cope with the team’s needs in the shortest format."

The report further said that the batter will only be considered for the T20 World Cup if he has a "superlative" IPL for Royal Challengers Bangalore.

Virat Kohli was last seen in action for India during the T20I series against Afghanistan in January this year. He then opted to take a break from the Test series against England, citing personal reasons.

Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma had recently welcomed their second child, a baby boy named Akaay.

As of now, it is not known when Kohli will join the RCB camp for the upcoming IPL 2024.

Royal Challengers Bangalore are slated to play the tournament opener against Chennai Super Kings on March 22, 2024, at MA Chidambaram in Chennai.
