Ric Flair's Shoutout After Rohit Sharma Copies His Iconic Walk To Lift T20 World Cup Trophy
Here's what former WWE wrestler Ric Flair had to say about Rohit Sharma copying his iconic walk during the T20 World Cup trophy presentation ceremony.
It has been nearly two days since Rohit Sharma-led Team India won the T20 World Cup but the euphoria surrounding the win, refuses to slow down. The entire country is in a celebratory mood, and rightly so. Team India managed to win an ICC event after more than a decade as Rohit Sharma and co defeated South Africa in the final of the T20 World Cup at the Kensington Oval, Bridgetown, Barbados on Saturday night. During the trophy presentation, Rohit Sharma walked up to receive the T20 World Cup title from the Board of Control for Cricket in India’s (BCCI) secretary, Jay Shah. It was then that the Indian captain displayed a stuttered walk that resembled the signature walk by the WWE Hall Of Famer, ‘The Nature Boy,’ Ric Flair.
In the latest trending news, Ric Flair has now taken notice of the walk and he took to social media to approve of the same.
Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Ric Flair wrote, "@ImRo45. Taking A Page Out Of My Playbook! WOOOOO!”

For the unversed, it was Kuldeep Yadav who gave the idea to Rohit to display Ric Flair's signature walk. Kuldeep conveyed the same to Rohit when the duo was in line to receive their respective winners medal prior to the trophy lifting.
After the T20 World Cup title win, Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma and Ravindra Jadeja announced their retirement from T20Is.
Speaking to the host broadcaster, Virat Kohli said, "This was my last T20 game playing for India. We wanted to lift that cup. Yes, I have (whether he is confirming his retirement), this was an open secret. Wasn't something that I was not going to announce even if we had lost. Time for the next generation to take the T20 game forward and do wonders as we have seen them do in the IPL."
On the other hand, Rohit Sharma announced his retirement during the post-match press conference. Speaking to reporters, he said, "This is my last game as well, no better time to say goodbye to this format. I’ve loved every moment of this. I started my career for India playing this format and this is what I wanted, I wanted to win the World Cup."
Speaking of Ravindra Jadeja, he announced his retirement from the shortest format, on Instagram.
Coming back to the T20 World Cup final, India opted to bat first, and posted 176/7 in the allotted twenty overs, owing to a 76-run knock from Virat Kohli.
Jasprit Bumrah, Arshdeep Singh, and Hardik Pandya then put on a death bowling masterclass to help India register a win. Kohli was named Player of the Match while Bumrah was adjudged as Player of the Tournament.
