Victory Parade In Mumbai For Rohit Sharma And Team To Celebrate T20 World Cup Win

The entire country is still celebrating India's T20 World Cup triumph and to make the feat a little bit more sweeter, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has decided to have an open-top bus parade from the National Centre for Performing Arts in Nariman Point to the iconic Wankhede Stadium on Thursday evening. The announcement was made by India captain Rohit Sharma and BCCI secretary Jay Shah on social media.
"We want to enjoy this special moment with all of you. So let’s celebrate this win with a victory parade at Marine Drive & Wankhede on July 4th from 5:00 pm onwards. It’s coming home," Rohit Sharma wrote on X (formerly Twitter).

As per several reports, after the open-top bus parade, the BCCI will also be conducting a felicitation ceremony at the Wankhede Stadium. Earlier, BCCI secretary Jay Shah had announced a cash prize of Rs 125 crore for the T20 World Cup winning team.
For the unversed, an open-top bus parade was held in Mumbai in 2007 when MS Dhoni's team had won the T20 World Cup in its inaugural edition.
Team India defeated South Africa in the finals of T20 World Cup on Saturday, and as a result, the side won an ICC event after a gap of 11 years. The team also won the T20 World Cup for the second time, after 2007.
Team India was stuck in Barbados for more than two days because of Hurricane Beryl, and the team finally departed for Delhi earlier today. The team will be arriving in Delhi on Thursday morning.
The team will be then at breakfast with Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
After the T20 World Cup win, the likes of Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma and Ravindra Jadeja announced retirement from T20Is.
