Just hours after shocking fans with his decision to retire from Test cricket after a stellar 14-year journey, Virat Kohli was seen flying out of Mumbai with wife and actress Anushka Sharma by his side. The celebrity couple, who have often kept a low profile during emotional milestones, made a rare public appearance at the airport on Monday. Despite being in a hurry, they paused to greet photographers with warm smiles, marking their first outing since the retirement news broke.

Photos and videos of Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli making their way inside the airport have surfaced online. For the airport outing, Virat went for a casual look in a beige shirt and white trousers, while Anushka kept it cool with a vibrant multi-coloured shirt and jeans.

Earlier in the day, Virat Kohli took to Instagram to announce his retirement from the longest format of the game, writing a heartfelt note reflecting on his journey.

“It’s been 14 years since I first wore the baggy blue in Test cricket. Honestly, I never imagined the journey this format would take me on. It’s tested me, shaped me, and taught me lessons I’ll carry for life,” he wrote.

He also posted a nostalgic picture of himself donning India’s iconic whites.

The decision came just weeks before India’s Test tour of England and closely follows fellow cricketer Rohit Sharma’s retirement from the format. Virat Kohli made his Test debut in 2011 and played 113 Test matches for India, leaving behind a legacy admired around the cricketing world.

Meanwhile, Virat Kohli recently made headlines for a social media stir involving actress Avneet Kaur after he accidentally liked a fan page’s post dedicated to her. The post in question featured Avneet’s sultry photos in a cropped green top and printed skirt.

This sparked massive frenzy online, with Virat Kohli later clarifying that the like was unintentional and probably triggered by the algorithm while he was clearing his feed.
