Actor Dinesh Phadnis, who became a household name for playing the role of Fredericks in one of the most popular Indian TV series 'CID', died on Tuesday at the age of 57.
Actor Dinesh Phadnis, who became a household name for playing the role of Fredericks in one of the most popular Indian TV series 'CID', died on Tuesday at the age of 57. In the latest entertainment news, Dinesh Phadnis' co-star in 'CID, Dayanand Shetty confirmed the news of his death to Indian Express. For the unversed, Dayanand Shetty played the role of Daya on 'CID'. "Dinesh breathed his last at 12.08 am," Dayanand Shetty told Indian Express.
For the unversed, Dinesh Phadnis, who was in his late 50s, was receiving treatment at Mumbai’s Tunga Hospital.
Dayanand Shetty also revealed that Dinesh died of multiple organ failure.
“There were a lot of complications and he was removed from ventilator last night," he said.
The actor’s funeral will be taking place in Mumbai on Tuesday. The last rites will be performed at Daulat Nagar Crematorium, Borivali East.
For the uninitiated, it was earlier reported that Dinesh suffered a cardiac arrest on Sunday, following which he was admitted to the hospital. Later, it was confirmed that it was not cardiac arrest but liver damage.
Dinesh Phadnis became a household name after playing the role of Fredericks in the long-running TV show CID. The show, which first aired in 1998, ended up running for 20 years on Sony TV.
The actor also made an appearance on the popular sitcom 'Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah' and he also played supporting roles in movies like 'Super 30' and 'Sarfarosh'.
