‘Naagin 5’ Fame Surbhi Chandna Trolled As Her Team Asks For “Free Clothes” For Her Wedding From Designer
Surbhi Chandna is getting married to boyfriend Karan Sharma in March 2024 but a controversy has erupted with a designer making some serious accusations.
Surbhi Chandna, who made her acting debut in the popular Indian television series ‘Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah’, has come under fire. The popular TV actress announced her wedding to longtime boyfriend and entrepreneur Karan Sharma in January 2024. Karan and Surbhi reportedly met in Mumbai in 2010 and have been together for 13 years now. As per reports, the couple will tie the knot in March 2024 in Jaipur. Amid the happy news of her upcoming wedding, she has landed in controversy after she was accused by a designer of asking for free clothes for the occasion.
A video of designer Ayush Kejriwal dismissing Surbhi Chandna’s team for asking for free clothes for her wedding was recently shared on Reddit. In the video, the chats between the designer and Surbhi’s team were also leaked.
While Ayush Kejriwal refused to give the clothes for free, he even called out the actress. Responding to Surbhi Chandna’s stylist, the designer wrote, “No thank you. Why should I give outfits for free for someone’s wedding?! That’s ridiculous.”
He further wrote, “If she can afford a lavish wedding in a palace she certainly can pay for her clothes.”

As per the message from Surbhi Chandna’s stylist, the wedding functions are happening on March 1 and 2 in a beautiful palace in Jaipur. The functions include haldi, mehendi, engagement and sufi night, wedding, and reception.
After these messages got leaked online, many social media users called out the Indian actress and criticised the move.
One user wrote, “While I think it is a 2 way street, as many designers also sponsor for free, so that they can get the recognition. In Surbhi's case, she could have paid when she can afford a lavish destination wedding. The guy could have put it more professionally though, if his concern was to call out the issue. But I liked the last part that he mentioned is so true. They get the outfits for free and someone who wants to replicate that will actually pay for it.”
Another one added, “Itne saare paise kamaane ke baad bhi so called celebrities ko sab free chahiye.”
A third one commented, “These telly stars are so delusional. Most are one hit wonders and will soon become irrelevent unless they do some notable work. Tv actors nowadays are mostly in it for the fame, money and clout and not for the craft. It is one thing to ask for free clothes to wear to events but it is so cheap when they hound vendors for free stuff for their own wedding, which is very personal. Sadly, they can AFFORD these outfits because they make a lot of money but i guess there is special joy in receiving free stuff. Bikhari is the right word.”
“Wow how cringy and embarrassing,” another comment read.
One user said, “Tbh the influencers, tv actors, movie stars are the people who can actually afford these designer outfits and may be like 1 % of their followers who are rich, for the rest it’s just outfit inspirations. Aam janta doesn’t have money to spend lakhs on one outfit, some people get married in the amount of one designer outfit and that’s the truth. Having a huge following doesn’t equal to sales.”
“This is so messed up considering out of all the people in the world they have the most money to spend on their special day yet they need to beg for freebies,” another comment read.
The designer had first shared the video on his Instagram handle a few days back. He captioned the post, “No, I will not give you clothes for free for your wedding just because you are a celebrity!!! #ayushkejriwal.”
Surbhi Chandna and her team are yet to react to these allegations made by the designer.
