Urfi Javed Shares Pic With “Legend” Javed Akhtar, Jokingly Says Finally “Met My Grandfather”
Urfi Javed recently bumped into veteran lyricist Javed Akhtar and shared a lovely picture with him, who she jokingly referred to as her “grandfather”. Check out the adorable photo here!
Oftentimes celebrities sharing the same first monikers or surnames are mistakenly believed to be related. Urfi Javed, who made a name for herself with her bold and unusual outfits, was once thought to be related to renowned lyricist Javed Akhtar. Recently, Urfi Javed bumped into the veteran lyricist and called him a “legend”, a tag we will all agree with, courtesy -- his beautiful songs. But Urfi Javed also jokingly called him her “grandfather”. Trust Urfi to find humour in anything!
Along with sharing a lovely picture on her Instagram Stories from their meeting, Urfi wrote, “Finally met my grandfather today, Also he is a legend, right in the morning so many people lined up for selfies but he didn't refuse anyone chatted with everyone with a smile. he was so warm ! I'm in awe.”
In the photo, Urfi and Javed Akhtar can be seen smiling ear to ear. The poet-lyricist is dressed in a grey kurta paired with a black shawl, while Urfi can be seen wearing a blue overcoat.
Putting an end to the rumours of Urfi being related to Javed Akhar, the lyricist’s wife and veteran actress Shabana Azmi had issued a clarification in 2021.
“Urfi Javed is not related to us in any way," Azmi had tweeted.

Urfi Javed, who rose to fame with her ‘Bigg Boss OTT’ stint, remains in the limelight because of her bold fashion choices.
The social media sensation found herself in several controversies in 2022, from politicians and activists lodging complaints and FIRs against her to people sending her rape and death threats.
Urfi Javed is also making headlines after BJP leader Chitra Wagh shared a video of the social media star in a black cutout top in Mumbai and accused her of “indulging in nudity publicly on the streets of Mumbai”.
The BJP leader had also filed a complaint against the social media sensation.
Meanwhile, on the work front, Urfi Javed was recently featured as the ‘Mischief Maker’ in ‘Splitsvilla 14’.
