“So Insulting”: Akanksha Puri Opens Up About Her Eviction From Salman Khan’s ‘Bigg Boss OTT 2’, Says “I Was Targeted”
Akanksha Puri, post her eviction from the Salman Khan-hosted ‘Bigg Boss OTT 2’, spoke about she felt targeted on the show from the start.
Actress Akanksha Puri, who recently entered the Salman Khan-hosted reality show ‘Bigg Boss OTT 2’, became the fourth contestant to be evicted from the ongoing season. Her elimination came after she made headlines for a 30-second kiss with fellow ‘Bigg Boss’ contestant Jad Hadid during a task. Host Salman Khan called out the duo during the ‘Weekend Ka Vaar’ episode, stating that he does not support this type of content. Salman Khan even went on to apologise to the viewers for the same.
In the latest entertainment news, Akanksha Puri spoke to The Indian Express about her eviction, calling it “insulting”.
Akanksha Puri said, “Every contestant gets a chance to speak to Salman sir and even the housemates. I wasn’t given the chance and before I could even react, I was brought out of the house. It was so insulting and it made me question why was everything against me.”
She added, “Salman sir did not even speak to me during the Weekend Ka Vaar. I felt side-lined absolutely and it was hurting. But I took everything that came my way in my stride but it was too much to handle. They never let me play my game.”
However, Akanksha Puri said that she has no regrets about signing up for the show, and has no complaints from the makers of ‘Bigg Boss OTT 2’.
Talking about her short stint on the show, Akanksha Puri further said, “I had no friends, no alliance in the house. Also, I entered the show two days late and then spent three days in jail and hence never got a chance to showcase my game. I had no bed in the house for 14 days, I don’t know why I was given this added punishment.”
She added, “People had issues that I speak respectfully. I use aap even during fights. And people felt that I was pretending to be nice. They also had issues that I always look pretty, even when I wake up. Tell me is that my problem if I look nice? They could not accept me and that made me look fake, which I am not.”
Akanksha Puri was nominated along with Abhishek Malhan and Jiya Shankar. The three were called to the activity area, post which Salman Khan announced that Akanksha has got the least amount of votes.
The Indian actress was asked to leave the ‘Bigg Boss’ house without getting a chance to meet the housemates or interacting with Salman.
Apart from Akanksha Puri, the evicted contestants of the Salman Khan-hosted show include Puneet Superstar, Palak Purswani and Aaliya Siddiqui.
The contestants still locked inside the ‘BB’ house are Avinash Sachdev, Bebika Dhurve, Jiya Shankar, Falaq Naazz, Jad Hadid, Cyrus Broacha, Manisha Rani, Abhishek Malhan, and Pooja Bhatt.
‘Bigg Boss OTT 2’ can be watched anytime on Jio Cinema and Voot Select. The new episodes of the controversial reality show roll out every day at 9 pm on the Jio Cinema app.
